We, at the Animal Hospital of Chetek, appreciate all that our community has given to us, and we feel strongly about giving back. In the past, we found ourselves giving small donations to many people who asked. These are all good causes, but we felt our impact was minimal. We have decided to select only two organizations per year to be our main contributions.

Flamingos Everywhere!

The Flamingo fund raiser was held by the youth at

Chetek Lutheran Church to raise money so they can attend the

National Youth Gathering Cruzando "Journey With Jesus" in July, 2006.

Coloring Contest - Chetek area Schools

Winner!  Chetek 4th Grade

We spoke to students at both schools about dog bite prevention and how to be safe around dogs and cats.  The coloring contest winners each received a  matching leash and collar set.

Kinship Of Chetek

The Animal Hospital of Chetek participated in the Kinship Bowling Challenge.
This is Kinship's main fundraiser.

 We, at the Animal Hospital of Chetek, appreciate all that our community has given to us, and we feel strongly about giving back. In the past, we found ourselves giving small donations to many people who asked. These are all good causes, but we felt our impact was minimal. We have decided to select only two organizations per year to be our main contributions.

We very much appreciate all that Kinship of Chetek has done to help the children of our community. We recognize Kinship's positive impact on children, which in turn has a positive impact on Chetek. With this in mind, we would like to sponsor Kinship of Chetek as our Charitable Community Sponsor from now until June 2005.

Child Eligibility:

• Child/youth is 5 to 14 years of age

• Lives in Chetek School District

• Wants to participate

• Has Parent(s)' or guardian(s)' support and permission to be in program

• Has need(s) for an adult mentor and friend, such as:

* cultural & economic limitations

* limited social activities

* lack of family/social supports

Volunteers:

• Able to be a positive, supportive role model & friend to a child

• Express an interest & commitment to an ongoing mentor relationship with a child

• Provide 3 personal references

• Pass a criminal background check

• Provide a copy of valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance.

• successfully complete screening interview and mentor training

Why Participate?

 

A relationship develops that truly makes a difference!  Youth in mentoring programs are less likely to engage in risky behavior.  The child knows someone is interested in them as an individual, and this relationship helps the child to better meet challenges in their home, school, and community.

Adults & Youths Invited!

Kinship of Chetek strives to improve lives through positive and safe friendships between adult volunteers and boys & girls, ages 5-14, who need a positive, supportive role model and friend.

 

Friendships grow through weekly one-to-one activities and periodic large group gatherings.
