Dr. Carlson
graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in
1978. She completed a clinical internship in small animal medicine and
surgery in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1979. She has been in
exclusive small animal practice since that time, located in Chetek since
1990. She opened the Animal Hospital of Chetek in August 1996.
Dr. Kuchevar
graduated from the University of Wisconsin - School of Veterinary Medicine
in 2001. He completed several clinical externships in small animal
medicine and surgery. Dr. Kuchevar has worked at the Dallas Zoo in the
medical facility, and is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. His
special interests include avian medicine, and ultrasonography. He was
in the animal health field for 10 years before attending veterinary
school.
Dr. Carlson is past president
of the Northwestern Wisconsin Veterinary Association (1992, 1993) and of
the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (1995). She served as
the delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) from
Wisconsin from 1996-2003 and served on the Board of Directors for the
American Veterinary Medical Foundation from 1999-2002.
Dr. Kuchevar is a member of the
American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital
Association, the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association, and the
Northwestern Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Carlson was
elected Vice President of the AVMA in July 2004, which represents the
70,000 in the United States. She will be speaking to veterinary
students at the 28 veterinary colleges across the country.
Dr. Carlson's biggest rewards
in practice come from dermatology and the special relationship people have
with their pets. She was voted Wisconsin's Veterinarian of the Year
in 2001. She has two beagles, Becca and Sammy, and a cat named
Annie. She enjoys biking, sailing, and birding in her spare time.
